Cold Rolled Steel Fabrication Services

Cold rolled steel is rolled at room temperature and then rolled again below its recrystallization temperature. This process enables better control over the finished product shape, thickness, dimensions, and a more consistent finish.

Among Alliance's family of companies, we offer cold rolled materials in various gauges and grades and in-house state-of-the-art processing.

What is Cold Rolled Steel?

Our fabricated cold rolled steel is typically harder and stronger than hot-rolled steel. Cold rolled steel typically has smoother, more finished surfaces with closer tolerances than hot-rolled steel. It's best to think of cold rolled steel as hot rolled steel that is further processed. The material is cooled to room temperature, followed by annealing and/or temper rolling.

What are Commonly Used Cold Rolled Steel Grades?

With extensive mill relationships all around the country, Alliance can source commonly used grades like:

  • A1008
  • A684
  • A1088
  • A109
  • SAE J2340
  • SAE J403
  • SAE J404
  • CR 1010 (ASTM A366)
